Seaplane operator Kenmore Air restarts flights to Victoria
With the easing of cross-border travel restrictions, seaplane operator Kenmore Air Harbor Inc. revived service to Victoria, British Columbia, one of its most popular destinations.
In the few days since, the company has already accepted more than 200 bookings, said Allison Russell, head of accounting for the family-owned company, which is based in Kenmore.
“The phones are ringing and people are excited to get up there,” she said. “It’s been quite the volume of calls.”
With the new service, the company will ramp up hiring as it adds back pilots, mechanics and customer service personnel. While several of its former employees have found new jobs since the start of the pandemic, many of its seasonal workers have been “waiting for the call,” Russell said.
