Local groups, volunteers in Puget Sound help Ukrainian refugees
Some of the refugees are getting help from Washington state. Local volunteers have answered the call in different ways. Some groups are gathering critical medical supplies and preparing to ship them out. Other volunteers are heading to Eastern Europe.
KOMO News talked to one Seattle nurse whos in Romania helping Ukrainian refugees there. And here in Puget Sound, we talked to a man whose group is getting ready to ship out 120 tons of medical supplies.
Bags of medical supplies are pouring into a Kirkland office and donations are now overflowing a warehouse in Puyallup.
They are gracious donations by Microsoft and Overlake Hospital. Evergreen Hospital is stepping in to help. So is Kaiser Permanente.
