SEATTLE People 50 and older in Washington could have an option to get a second COVID-19 booster shot starting early next month, The New York Times reported.
The Biden administration is expected to fall short of recommending the shot, The Times reported, but rather give people 50 and older the option of a second Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna booster, The Times reported.
COVID-19 case numbers, hospitalizations and deaths are declining nationwide, but health officials are keeping an eye on the worrying omicron subvariant, BA.2, or stealth omircron, which has caused new cases to more than double in the United Kingdom in recent weeks, National Public Radio reported.
Though BA.2 is gaining ground in Washington, case counts, hospitalizations and deaths have continued their decline. The state averaged just 453 new COVID-19 cases a day the week ending March 16, down from a peak of over 19,000 daily cases in January.

(58,637 posts)My brother and his GF both tested postive recently. Both vaxxed and boosted. I'm vaxxed and boosted and might consider the 2d booster if available. They seem to be doing OK so far, neither hospitalized. It's been about 10-12 days. He has been feeling better, her a little behind the curve.
