Officials find Canadian citizen in U.S. waters with nearly 1,500 pounds of meth
BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Nearly 1,500 pounds of methamphetamine was seized early Wednesday not far from Bellingham.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials said they found the drugs southwest of Stuart Island.
CBP’s Marine Interdiction Agents worked to inspect a vessel about half a mile from the US-Canada border.
Once on the vessel, agents say they found 28 duffel bags stuffed with cellophane wrapped cylindrical packages, which tests proved to be methamphetamine.
