Fourth of July celebration returning to Gas Works Park
It’s been three long years, but the tables, tents and fireworks are returning to Gas Works Park for Seafair’s Fourth of July bash.
Fourteen pyrotechnic workers started setting up all the fireworks several days ago.
“For me, when it’s all going off, that’s kind of the thrill of it. That rush. It’s kind of an indescribable feeling,” said David Fitzgibbon of Western Display Fireworks.
In total, the pyrotechnic workers plan on using 10,000 pounds of explosives this year and they’re all set to be blasted off from a barge just a few hundred feet from the shore of Gas Works Park.
