Edmonds Library continues as rooftop pop-up

EDMONDS — After a devastating flood, the Edmonds Library remains shuttered. But services will continue in a pop-up library on the roof.

In late June, a pipe burst, filling the Sno-Isle Library at 650 Main St. with about 60,000 gallons of water. All of the over 50,000 books and other materials were salvaged by library staff, but the library itself needed big repairs.

For now, customers can check out books and access Wi-Fi in the building’s rooftop Plaza Room. Sno-Isle library staff will be on site. The pop-up hours are available on the Sno-Isle Libraries website.

A reopening date has not yet been released. The city owns the building and is working with Sno-Isle to develop a reopening plan.
