Clinic operator that partners with employers makes push into Seattle area

Crossover Health, a San Clemente, California-based health care provider for self-insured employers, will open clinics near office campuses in South Lake Union and downtown Bellevue, according to filings with the two cities.

It's unclear, however, which companies will contract with the clinics.

Crossover partners with companies to run clinics near their offices, offering primary care and other health services. Employers, in turn, pay a flat fee per worker for coverage. That's in contrast to traditional fee-for-service models, which most health care providers say they're trying to pivot away from.

"With something that’s upstream and proactive, you’re not just providing an opportunity to save employers money but also have a really cared for workforce," Chief Medical Officer Dr. Stephen Ezeji-Okoye said in a statement. “We aren’t paid based on visit volume. We have incentivized contracts to keep employees healthy."
