Seattle announces three finalists for police chief

SEATTLE - Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell has announced the three finalists for the job to run the city's police department.

The three finalists for the next permanent Chief of the Seattle Police Department are interim Seattle Chief of Police Adrian Diaz, Seattle Assistant Chief of Police Eric Greening, and Tucson Assistant Chief of Police Kevin Hall.

The Seattle Police Department is currently run by Diaz. He replaced former Chief Carmen Best after she stepped down from the role in August 2020.

Best's announcement came shortly after the Seattle City Council approved budget cuts to the city's police department.
