I-90 Lane Closures Begin Friday Night
SEATTLE Drivers with travel plans over Lake Washington will want to prepare for some delays this weekend as road crews reduce lanes on the Interstate 90 floating bridge for maintenance, beginning Friday night.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, eastbound and westbound trips will see impacts as crews complete monthly maintenance in both tunnels and install new weather monitoring equipment on the bridge.
WSDOT said the old weather station pole was displaced by construction for the future East Link extension, and the new one will restore live data for wind speed and temperature. The lane reductions will also allow crews to complete their annual inspections in the tunnels, which help identify areas in need of further repair.
Here are the dates and times for the scheduled work:
9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19: Two left lanes on eastbound I-90 between the Mount Baker Tunnel and the Mercer Island Lid will be closed.
