Nancy Evans, former first lady of Washington, dies at 90
Nancy Bell Evans, a renowned civic and community leader, died Friday at her Seattle-area home surrounded by family members and her husband Daniel J. Evans, the former Washington governor and U.S. senator. She was 90.
Evans had been battling complications of breast cancer which returned for the fourth time, said Dan Evans Jr., the eldest of her three sons.
Its a difficult period for her family her loving husband Dan, her sons, daughters-in-law, nine grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews," said Dan Jr. in a post by the family. "Despite many visits to see her doctors, the tests and the medications she needs to take, she navigated the past few weeks with unwavering courage."

Nancy Evans is survived by her husband Daniel Evans, their three sons (Dan Evans Jr., Mark Evans and Bruce Evans) and their wives and families.
