Eddie Bauer has laid off its marketing and creative teams at its corporate office in Seattle, raising questions about the company's future in the city.

Sources, who requested anonymity to protect professional relationships, told the Business Journal operations at the Seattle office are winding down.

Employees on the marketing and creative teams were laid off on Jan. 14, according to the sources. The official separation date will be in early February.

The exact number of affected employees is unclear, but as of Jan. 1, there were approximately 88 employees working out of the Seattle headquarters.
