Blazing Bagels closes all locations after 25 years in business

Redmond-born bagel chain Blazing Bagels has shuttered all of its locations, bringing the 25-year-old brand to an end.

According to KING 5, Blazing Bagels employees said they received an email on March 12 informing them the closure was due to bankruptcy. As of March 16, the company had yet to file any bankruptcy paperwork.

Blazing Bagels declined to share how many employees were laid off.

The bagel chain was founded by Dennis Ballen, who opened the first Blazing Bagels location at 6975 176th Ave NE in Redmond in 2001. Over the next two decades, Ballen expanded the brand with locations in Bellevue, Issaquah, Ravenna and Sodo.
