Tell John Koster: Keep the Promise to our Seniors!

Since 1935, American workers have paid into Social Security to ensure the benefits they earned would keep them out of poverty in retirement. Since 1965, they've done the same with Medicare to ensure they could get the medical care they needed. Social Security and Medicare are the most successful government programs in this nation's history. Workers have paid for and earned their benefits, and we must keep the promises we have made to them.

Unfortunately, Republicans in Congress, led by Paul Ryan, have proposed ending Medicare - substituting vouchers nobody believes would be adequate - and turning Social Security into a slush fund for their Wall Street buddies. You have expressed support for these ideas in the past.

The residents of Washington’s 1st District deserve to know, Mr. Koster: are you with Paul Ryan Republicans in Washington D.C., or are you with the millions of seniors kept out of poverty by these programs every year?
