http://www.seattleglobalist.com/2016/02/22/trans-pacific-trade-deal-washington-state-legislators-vote-murray/In the past weve seen more unified votes on this model of trade deal, but now were seeing a lot more doubt in the Washington delegation, she said.
But some may vote differently on the actual trade deal itself.Locascio points toward Democrat Denny Heck as one example.
He voted against Trade Promotion Authority because of massive public opposition in his district, and also because he thought it was a pretty bad process, said Locascio But he hasnt yet decided how he feels about the Trans Pacific Partnership and I think he is really listening to people and trying to decide where he stands on this issue.
Democrat Adam Smith, who also voted against the Trade Promotion Authority, voiced similar sentiments that hed be feeling out his constituents on the question.
And if the vote does come after the November election, new politicians will have taken over some of Washingtons congressional seats. For example, Jim McDermott one of the delegations most consistent opponents of the TPP is retiring from the 7th legislative district. But Locascio said that most of the candidates she had spoken to in that race would also not likely vote in favor of the TPP.
If the vote is held off, the presidential elections could also affect the ratification of the TPP. Many GOP candidates say they are opposed to the deal, as do both the Democratic front-runners.

(8,159 posts)My worthless legislators are pro TPP.
Most people here in Western SD have no idea what TPP is and could care less.
The MSM has done a great job of hiding info on it.

(14,255 posts)Nelson will vote for it, methinks. Rubio, like other politicians running for office, will make a decision based on whatever he thinks will get him the most votes, not the TPP itself.
My Representative is GOP, and I assume he will be voting for it.
They all three voted for Fast Track.
All I can really do at this point is let them know I will never vote for them - and the only person really affected is Nelson, but I will not vote for him again. I'll take a page from Debbie DINO's playbook - she support fellow GOP cronies with impunity.
And, here is something to remember about votes - part of Pelosi's job is to arrange votes so that politicians whose constituents are against something can vote "No" without changing the final result she wants. And then, of course, Obama has people like Jamie Dimon whipping votes for him. The system is pretty much hopelessly corrupted. IMO and all that.
