My fellow West Virginians - are you safe?

Here in Huntington, we're okay, but there are trees down all over, with roofs peeled off and billboards knocked down. Huntington Tristate Airport recorded a gust of 92 mph.

How are the rest of you?

(For the benefit of the non-West Virginians who might read this, we had a very nasty storm front pass through this morning. So far just a few minor injuries, but more than 140,000 households have lost power.)

I’m in the northern Panhandle region of WV……we had some huge downpours earlier and the Ohio River is way, way up! We didn’t have the high wind - - YET!! I’ve been looking at photos from the Huntington/Charleston area and it looks awful!! According to all the forecasts, the “main event(s)” are going to hit us later this evening and even overnight. Stay safe!!

I should be safe, - but we'll see what nature presents to us...
(It was sunny & bright most of the day, now darkening early at 6:15, dark clouds and thunder making an appearance.)

And here near the mountains, fallen trees often bring down power lines as well. Stay safe, friends!
