Walker: God put me and my family through all this for a purpose

Our shameless snake oil salesman revival tent governor talking to Iowa voters last night...

Like he did during his speech at U.S. Rep. Steve King's Iowa Freedom Summit last weekend, Walker talked about some of the death threats made against him by those who opposed his conservative reforms. One threatened to "gut my wife like a deer," and another note said that if his wife didn't stop him, he'd be "the first Wisconsin governor ever assassinated," he said.

The threats are part of the reason he's "exploring that very real possibility of stepping up and providing a new level of leadership," he said during the 30-minute call from Madison, Wisc.

"Part of me looks back and thinks that maybe God put me and my family through all this for a purpose – and it wasn't just to get things done in Wisconsin, and it wasn't just to win all those elections in a state that normally doesn't go Republican. Maybe it was to set us to ... help get our country on the right track."

Walker mentioned his Midwest connections a number of times, noting that he woke up to the same "white blanket of snow this morning" that Iowans saw outside their homes. But when he took a question from a caller in Madrid, he mispronounced the name of the central Iowa town.

could come to us in the guise of Jesus to convince us to do bad things. I think we were discussing some person in the news who was a murderer and who claimed that Jesus told him to do it. The point I believe the sister was trying to get at was you had to make sure that the Prince of lies wasn't behind a lot of your actions that seemed so right at the time. For instance, I think a lot of the pro-life people think they are doing God's will.

These are not my beliefs but if Walker does in fact believe in a god, he needs to question which one is inspiring him.

...making all the lies and harm he has caused people justified (God's will) in his mind, or would it be worse if he is intentionally manipulating people's belief in God for personal gain, as a con man would?

Either way, this raises a number of red flags for what's going on inside Scott Walker's head.

We all know the real gods he obeys are the Koch brothers who will give him all he needs to become President.

I bet the 'death threats' he received are either a lie or not really what he is claiming.
