Our nation has come a long way towards fairness, equality and freedom. And today we can proudly say that discrimination doesn’t just violate our laws -- it violates our constitution.
Today the Supreme Court affirmed what we in Wisconsin already know: love is love, family is family -- and discriminating against anyone’s love, against anyone’s family, is wrong. I am so proud that the Supreme Court has made marriage equality the law of the land.
The fight for marriage equality has always been about fairness and freedom. Today we took an historic step forward in the fight, and I remain committed to continuing the march of progress toward the promise of full equality for every American.
