http://www.stevenspointjournal.com/article/20130202/SPJ0101/302010465/Skyward-loses-out-statewide-contractA local software company wont be the sole provider of student information systems to Wisconsins more than 440 school districts and nondistrict charter schools.
The Wisconsin Department of Administration announced this afternoon it will negotiate an estimated $15 million contract with Minnesota-based Infinite Campus Inc. instead of Stevens Point-based Skyward.
The Blaine, Minn., company had the highest scoring proposal based on several criteria including having the highest technical score and the lowest cost, according to a news release from the DOA.
Neither Skyward CEO Cliff King nor President Scott Glinski was available for comment today after the news was released.

Creating more jobs, I see.
Only not in Wisconsin.
Wonder how he is profiting from this one.

Not Walker's fault. Educators that are unwilling to support skyward and use it properly and administrators who have not promoted it's full use in schools are to blame.

All this private "intellectual property" in public education should be swept up and put out with the trash.

(22,340 posts)5. Yup. Without a doubt.
Which is why I try my damnedest to stay away from Apple and stick with Google/Android. I hate the proprietary bullshit.
It is dumbfounding to see the lack of ability of these systems to be able to work together or to make it possible for school districts to adapt to what they do uniquely in their locale.
