] The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board has not posted scanned copies of the Governor Walker recall petitions online despite promises to the citizens of Wisconsin that they would do so.
GAB staff delivered copies of the scans to the Governors campaign late last week. The campaign, with the assistance of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, began reviewing the petitions at satellite offices across the state this weekend.
Once they scanned documents, they were going to make them public, having issued an alert to all media earlier in the day. The revelation was the top of many radio broadcasts Monday.
Such a public disclosure would have allowed the volunteers at the independent VerifytheRecall.com to also begin their effort.

(149,699 posts)Boy, do I have some deals for you!
It's NOT about that.
They don't want people to see how many signatures there are. They really don't want people to realize just how very unpopular Walker is.
That's my take.

(27,985 posts)GAB has no dog in this fight. They didn't want to do the Walker campaign's job of verifying signatures, but a court decision forced them. They didn't want to post petitions online, but the AG and WisGOP forced them. The GOP wants them online as a bully tactic against those who signed and circulated. In addition, they can now task all their followers to try to strike signatures from the comfort of their living rooms.

(241 posts)Kennedy, of the GAB, stated open records trump privacy for political purposes. The GOP Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is soliciting readers to review the signatures and report back to them: http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/dataondemand/138133913.html

(53,475 posts)... of threats or violence? Threatening to burn down the house of someone who signed is terrorism. Where is his condemnation of this behavior?
On another note, I would have loved to be the fly on the wall when Kennedy had to face his staff on this issue. He's a tool for the right-wing and is not to be trusted.

(26,624 posts)Are racists dumb? Do conservatives tend to be less intelligent than liberals? A provocative new study from Brock University in Ontario suggests the answer to both questions may be a qualified yes.
The study, published in Psychological Science, showed that people who score low on I.Q. tests in childhood are more likely to develop prejudiced beliefs and socially conservative politics in adulthood.
I.Q., or intelligence quotient, is a score determined by standardized tests, but whether the tests truly reveal intelligence remains a topic of hot debate among psychologists.
Dr. Gordon Hodson, a professor of psychology at the university and the study's lead author, said the finding represented evidence of a vicious cycle: People of low intelligence gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, which stress resistance to change and, in turn, prejudice, he told LiveScience.
