Related: About this forumCan Wisconsin AGAIN buck the trend and lose jobs while the US gains?
The US gains jobs again! Hooray! Now, do you think Fitzwalkerstan will once again continue to defy the odds and lose jobs while the rest of the country gains? If we do, what's the spin this month? More of the same: "Oh, don't believe those silly old facts and numbers?"
It makes me wonder if Walker's policies are even worse than I've been imagining. I mean how many months has the nation ADDED jobs while WI lost them? A track record that bad is worse than just negligence, I think it has to take active work to be that bad. In other words, I don't think you can be that bad without TRYING to be that bad. 6 months is a pattern, not an accident.

(53,475 posts)1. Walker's policies have moved Wisconsin in the wrong direction. While most of the Country recovers..
... we're under the Koch brothers thumb. I hope we have lots of new jobs, but if we do, it will be in spite of our Governor, not because of him.

(2,958 posts)3. Reducing paychecks of 300,000+ state employees
can only compress the state economy. Take 300,000 people and take away $300 spending money each month, with let's say a economic multiplier of around 4, that $360MM a month that's GONE. Some will argue the modest reduction in property taxes will spur spending, but I don't think that makes up for it.
Doesn't our 2.6 GPA Governor have the ability to think through his unintended consequences?
