http://www.wisn.com/politics/wisconsin-politics/AP-Evers-wins-state-school-superintendent-race/-/10057500/19569324/-/5fdi25/-/index.htmlTony Evers said his re-election victory as state superintendent shows voters support public education and oppose efforts backed by Gov. Scott Walker to expand private school vouchers.
Evers defeated Republican state Rep. Don Pridemore, a voucher supporter, in Tuesday's election.
Evers told The Associated Press that he believes he won because of his message for more funding for public schools and against the voucher expansion plan. Evers says he also built a broad coalition of support across the state that helped him win a second term.
The race to head the state Department of Public Instruction is nonpartisan, but Democrats and unions supported Evers. Pridemore's backing came from fellow Republicans.

(16,236 posts)We got all three progressives on the school board (6 seats open so one conservative made it on the board again). Still looking for results for my alder who ran a write-in campaign.

(53,475 posts)I predict we'll now see the R's file a faux lawsuit to stop the mine, get it fast-tracked to the Supremes to get their ultimate ticket to destroying the water in the northern half of our State.
My pessimism meter is redlined this morning.
but not even I thought about a faux lawsuit...I wouldn't put it past them...
The bright spot might be that the Tribes (especially Bad River) file their suit for violation of the treaty in Federal Court. We have a much better chance there.
