The guy quit the Conservatives. Will sit as an independent. Poilievre is playing with fire because the man is popular in Quebec politics.

1. That's not penalizing, it punishing (or attempting) one guy as an example to others

The MP is beyond the reach of caucus penalties because he is an independent now.

Poilievre is (and I think this is your point phrased another way) being petulant, vindictive, and trying to set a strong arm mafia example: "Cross me and I will hurt you five times as much", which is what tRump has said (paraphrased) and done. {on edit: I see now that the tweeter (retweeter) made that exact point too.}

Pierre "Freedumb" Poliovirus is not a true friend of freedom if he tries to bully CONservatives: "Do as I say or I'll take it out of your hide." Hmm, dictators behave like that and they are friends of freedom.

"You are free {Poilievre snickers} and will be even freer, but you MUST bow to me."


Good calling him out on what he does, even more so than on what he says.
