This old camper has been transformed to a hot soup kitchen, ready to feed Windsor's needy

A once drab-looking camper is now a hub for hot food in Windsor, Ont., for those in need during this cold season.

The Soup Shack has been put together by two local organizations — Feeding Windsor and the Street Angels. Together, they converted an old camper into a space to serve hot meals and drinks.

Organizers are parking the vehicle at the corner of Park Street and Victoria Avenue between 7 and 9 p.m. every night.

"Our street friends are going hungry in the late evening hours," said Marnie Monrose of Street Angels. "They usually go hungry and they don't have anything to eat after 5 p.m. We just want to send them to bed with a warm, full stomach.

"We don't want to see anybody in the community sleeping outside during these cold winter months."
