Why Alberta says it's entitled to half of Canada's Pension Plan About That

The Alberta government wants out of the Canada Pension Plan — and the province wants to take more than half of the pot with it. Andrew Chang breaks down how Alberta arrived at its $334 billion take-home figure — and why some experts say the province needs to double check its math.

I found this video very informative in understanding the issues surrounding Alberta's numbers and those of experts.

I totally agree with you, I am a big NO in any referendum on this. It is beyond ridiculous.

Very conservative/libertarian and in whose economy has depended primarily on oil for decades and cattle before that.

We did elect a progressive provincial government, the NDP in 2015, for one term. It was a definite outlier, unfortunately.

questions because they are all skewed to them taking over our pensions, but they did have a comment box at the end and I made my opinion quite clear I am sure they did not like what I wrote telling them to keep their dirty hands off my pension. We cannot trust them to control our province let alone my pension, I paid into Canada Pension and that is where I intend to stay. No crazy lady is going to look after my pension.
