Saskatchewan grounds their 3 Turbo Commander 690 firefighting aircraft, after the same model crash in NWT kills 3 crew.

Just when we really need them. Bird Dog 104 airplane (manages the fire response) went down in the NWT, killing all 3 crew members in June.

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency says it is temporarily grounding three of its aircraft pending a comprehensive safety review.
The three Turbo Commander 690s are known as bird dog aircraft and are used to guide tankers and direct other air traffic over and near a wildfire.
They're the same model as the plane that crashed near Fort Simpson, N.W.T. last month, killing the three people onboard as they responded to a wildfire in the area.
