Wannabe Prime Minister Andrea Leadsom thinks all websites should be rated – just like movies

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/07/08/leadsom_thinks_websites_should_be_rated/

The UK's possible future prime minister thinks all websites should be classified with minimum age ratings, just like films.

Andrea Leadsom is one of two candidates left in the race for the leadership of the Conservative Party; the winner of which will become the country's Prime Minister.

Although many are concerned with the authoritarian stance taken by her rival, Theresa May, Leadsom's views on many topics – including the internet – have come under scrutiny following her unexpected success in the leadership election.

Key among those is Leadsom's apparent belief that the best solution to troublesome content on the internet is to have film-rating organization the British Board of Film Classification rate all websites, and have any unrated websites blocked by ISPs.

Just another reason not to vote for her if you're a Con, in addition to her motherhood blunder.

Latest count. There are more than 1 billion and 50 million websites. If it takes 5 minutes to rate a website, they should have this fine in about 10,000 years, provided no more websites are created.

What's it like to be this stupid? I mean, do they pour the cereal on the counter and then pour the milk over it, skipping the bowl entirely? How do they remember to get dressed before they leave the house? People like this used to be bd on the fringe and rightfully ignored. Those were the days!

Sure you have the Y, G, PG, 14, MA general ratings but the TV ratings have more clues than the movie ones... the Dialog, Language, Sex and Violence codes. Something like Liberty, Equality, Peace and Ethics... I wouldn't rate on the BS... no one would pass that one.

I'm beginning to wonder if she might be the reincarnation of Mary Whitehouse!

Leadsom is a religious authoritarian; whereas May is a secular one.

Just thought of this after I read your comment. Thanks! LB.
