I was at a meeting last week at the Town Hall, packed with people concerned about Brexit, including a number of EU citizens potentially badly affected. Our city went overwhelmingly Remain. Yet of the two Oxford MPs, one, Tory Nicola Blockhead, did not accept the invitation to attend, and the other, Labour's Andrew Smith was totally opposed to Brexit in principle; supported various amendments to soften it; but said he would have to vote even for a hard Brexit, because 'the people have spoken' and 'we lost'. Depressing.
