Theresa May would go to war to defend Gibraltar just as Margaret Thatcher did with the Falklands, a former Tory leader has suggested.

The future of Gibraltar is in the balance after the European Union appeared to back Spain in its long dispute with the UK over the territory...

Today Lord Howard told Sky News: ’35 years ago this week another woman Prime Minister sent a task force half way across the World to defend the freedom of another small group of British people against another Spanish-speaking country.


‘I am absolutely certain our current Prime Minister will show the same resolve in standing by the people of Gibraltar.’
