1. If this held to a General Election....

The Lib Dems would pick up an awful lot of seats from the Conservatives in the South and South East. In a lot of SE seats the Lib Dems typically ran 2nd place. Due to Westminsters First Past the Post system, the Tories would not have a wipeout but definitely would not have a majority. The present state of Labour would mean that they would not get a majority either. It would also depend on whether the Brexit Party properly contested a general election. If past history is an indicator of anything it is that incumbency really helps the Conservatives and Labour. UKIP never performed well at Westminster elections and my guess is that the Brexit Party may suffer a similar fate.

Were there to be a general election soon, the Lib Dems, the Greens and Change UK should form an electoral pact that the strongest candidate that could win that seat be supported and the other two parties either not field a candidate or file a paper candidate who is expected to lose their deposit.

2. I voted Lib Dem in my constituency (Kensington and Chelsea) for the MEP elections

My heart was with Change UK, but I voted strategically, and I think CUK will end up merging with the Lib Dems anyway, although Chuka Umunna only wants a pact not to stand against them, but Heidi Allen wants to go further and actually merge. It (the combined party) might take a new name, if they do merge. I hope they do and I also hope they pull a tonne of anti-Corbyn Labour MP's away. I am so sick of the state of Labour atm, I so partially blame a lot of them for Brexit.
