A Sicilian Mafia boss has been arrested at his London home after 19 years on the run.
Domenico Rancadore, 64, described by Italian media as the most influential mafia man in Palermo, was arrested on Wednesday evening at the Uxbridge home he shared with his wife.
Scotland Yard said he had been living under the name of Marc Skinner and the arrest come 19 months after the Italians first lodged an European Arrest Warrant in January 2012.
Rancadore, a former PE teacher in Sicily, went on the run in 1994, shortly after the capture of Cosa Nostra's boss of bosses Salvatore Toto Riina, and just two years after the murders of anti-Mafia judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.
A number of supergrasses, including mafiosi Gaetano Lima and Salvatore Barbagallo, subsequently named Rancadore as a dangerous Cosa Nostra figure with links to London and Tenerife.
