I think it is true that British drivers are more respectful of the rules of the road, and of pedestrians, than those in many other countries (I speak as a pedestrian here!). However, road rage is certainly a problem here as elsewhere.

I think that British people are getting ruder than in the past, but I am aware that thinking such things is generally one of the first signs of old age!
