Add to that a popular Dem for Governor + a favorable national environment, the new Dem will win this seat by a sizable margin.

we already know she can win state wide and she has an excellent record as Attorney General, especially in the area of consumer protection. I don't think that Ellison really would do well in the rural areas of the state. McCollum might be okay but she strikes me as another wishy-washy Klobuchar when what we need is another Wellstone or Franken who will make some noise.

I don't really see that weasel Paulsen as the Republican candidate he already appears to be in some trouble in his own district and Emmer would go down in flames in the metro area as would Bachmann. Pawlenty maybe, but I think (hope) people were pretty sick of him by the time he finished up as governor.

Serious!

The party has gone so far to the right on every level that Michelle Bachmann could be their nominee.

Of course, she will be blown out of the water.

Paulsen loses the 2018 MN US Senate Race by a margin similar to Mark Kennedy-2006 MN US Senate Race.
Democrats pick up US House Seats in MN-3 and MN-2 and hold onto MN-1,MN-7,and MN-8. MN-6 will be the sole Republican held US House seat.
