Obama current lead status could hurt him?

As of today, most everywhere I read... Obama is up, Romney support is down..his campaign is failing, etc... Romney got killed on the Sunday shows this weekend. For the Sunday shows, that seems a little odd to me.

I then start to think about one thing Republicans need to win = low voter turnout.

I know this has been brought up before.....

If this message continues, do we risk complacency from voters if they think Obama is going to win anyway and "why should I make all this effort to get to the polls on my lunch hour, in the rain, etc...,etc..."?

Part of me thinks that DU and all of us can acknowledge (and perhaps secretly celebrate) what the polls say, but the message until Nov 4th could probably be...."It's still going to be a really close race"?

6. I don't think complacency was a factor in 2010...

...since we were being told every day that the Republicans were poised to make big gains and that our congressional majorities were in danger. Rather, I think what cost us dearly was the "purity brigade" on the left who sat out the election to "send a message" to Obama for not giving them everything they wanted immediately and on a silver platter. Well, it was quite a message, all right.

Complacency is never fun ... but neither is a defeated base. Once your base concedes you're going to lose, they become less likely to vote. It's not the same, though, for the winning team. It's far easier to get energized to vote when you're pretty sure your guy wins. Everyone loves to vote for a winner. Not only will it help with the little remaining undecideds, but it also helps energize Democratic voters for down ticket races ... while dispiriting the opposition.

5. I think its having the opposite effect on me.

When it looked like Obama might have less of a chance, I wasn't so enthusiastic about getting out to vote. I was going to, no doubt about it. But it was halfhearted.

Now that he's up and it's likely he's going to win I'm actually more excited than I would otherwise have been.

I was a doubter and a skeptic with regard to the Obamacare as half measure and incremental change. I whined about wanting it to be better faster, and I based this on the fact that I thought the Supremes would overturn it and/or Obama would lose and it would be struck down one way or another.

But now that the Supremes are out of the way, and now that it looks like Obama will win and if he does the ACA will become solidified law (as much as anything can in this country) and there's actually a chance of it getting into place and/or expanding I'm more excited than I was previously to get the hell out there and to encourage others to do the same.

I was hoping to get some different perspectives to maybe put me more at ease.

Though they are desparate to get rid of Obama, I suppose if Republicans are both unexcited and feeling defeated, that might work well for us.

I just can't seem to get over how Rove doesn't have something up his sleeve other than voter Id, intimidation, etc.

I'm pretty sure that President Obama is finishing his last term in office.
I know...I know... You're thinking, "What's this person talking about? President Obama is strong and getting stronger!"

But that's not the case.

FLOTUS was campaigning in black neighborhoods this past weekend. Why is THAT happening on the LAST weekend of the re-election campaign?

What should be the ABSOLUTELY MOST RELIABLE vote sector is not motivated. This is a very bad sign for us.

I can't keep my head in the sand any longer.

Make a note: I predict that the landslide losses of 2010 will continue. We will lose the White House. And it will be a huge loss.

On Wednesday - I hope you write to me and say I was wrong. But I don't think you'll be doing that.
