But, here's a little twist to consider: What if Kavanaugh goes down, and Trump wants revenge against Feinstein?
He could tell California GOP voters, "It doesn't matter which candidate wins the Senate election in your state, you're still going to have a rotten socialist/communist/obstructionist in there, but you need to punish Diane Feinstein for the dirty trick she played on a good man!"
Now, he might not sound as erudite as that, but he could use words to that effect. Some Democratic voters already want to vote for de Leon, what happens if most of the pro-Trumpers in CA go for this? I would expect Trump's vitriol to go into high gear for this, and he knows that he also has a new target of the "resistance" to joust with freely, should de Leon win.
