I just realized why Becca Ballint won the Democratic nomination for the 2022 VT US House Race.
Ballint is a gay female immigrant who served in elected office since 2015. She also was endorsed by Bernie Sanders.
Ballint will succeed Sanders in the US Senate when Sanders decides not to seek re-election which will most likely be in 2030.
