The Democratic candidates likely to Cardin's MD US Senate seat in 2024 if Cardin decides to leave.

3 US House Members.
1)John Sarbanes- the most experienced(been in the US House since 2007), most well known(son of a long time popular former US Senator,) and currently represents US House District that Sarbanes’s father,Barbara Mikulski, and Ben Cardin represented before they got elected to the US Senate.
2)Jamie Raskin- the most progressive candididate, represents a Montgomery County US House District that the recently elected US Senator Chris Van Hollen represented before he got elected to the US Senate.
3)David Trone- the most wealthiest candidate, represents a US House District that has a lot of rural Republican voters(Western MD)
2 County Executives of the 3 most populated counties in MD.
4)Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks.- will become the 1st black/2nd female US Senator from MD. Prince George’s County is more populated than a single US House District. Alsobrooks played a major role in helping the 4 MD statewide elected officials(Moore,Miller,Lierman, and Brown) win the primary and general election.
5)Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski Jr. is the most youngest.

The frontrunner will Alsobrooks because she is a black female running against 4 white male candidates(3 of those 4 white male candidates are US House Members that are over 60 years old.) Alsobrooks represents the most Democratic county in MD(Prince George’s).

All of the 7 current Democratic US House Members from MD are over 60 years old.
Hoyer is over 80 years old.
Ruppersberger and Mfume are over 70 years old.
Trone,Ivey,Sarbanes, and Raskin are over 60 years old.

All 4 of the current Democratic statewide elected officials of MD were just elected.
Governor Wes Moore,Lt Governor Aruna Miller,Comptroller Brooke Lierman, and Attorney General Anthony Brown.

If we were to look at the other highly populated counties in MD with Democratic County Executives.
Stuart Pittman of Anne Arundel if not well known and Arundel is a swing county.
Brandon Scott of Baltimore City and Calvin Ball of Howard are young black male candidates.
Marc Ehrlich of Montgomery is too old.

If I were to rank those 5 2024 MD Democratic US Senate candidates, it will be
1)Angela Alsobrooks.
2)John Sarbanes.
3)Jamie Raskin.
4)David Trone.
5)John Olszewski.
