"Temporary Internet Files"
My computer alerts me that I have "low disk space" and one category of files that is "bloated" is "temporary internet files".
Question: Does this mean that I should delete some of the 3,000 or so e-mails I've accumulated in order to free up space? If I am mistaken one is not synonymous with the other, where can I find the temporary internet files so I can delete them?
Thanks!

(2,282 posts)which are files that get saved on your machine every time you visit a page. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner You'll be amazed at the clutter you find.

I cleaned one client's computer of 3 Gb of "Temporary" Internet files dating back to 2006 and 5 Gb of "Temp" files going back to 2004. Just dumping all that made the computer boot twice as fast before I even tweaked the other settings.

(20,878 posts)You can do it this way as well.
Go to Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Cleanup
It takes a few seconds (less than a minute and it will show the files that are temporary internet files, etc.). It will show you the files to cleanup and click on "OK" and they will be gone.
It should help.
Also cleaning your cache (in Firefox ... --> Tools ---> Clear Recent History).
I hope this helps.

Firefox browser allows setting to dump history and cache when you close the browser.
And Linux somehow sweeps up after itself when I power down.

(47,675 posts)When you download a page and it has images on it, those images are stored locally so if you return to the page it will load more quickly. All browsers (well, not sure about Chrome - not really up to the "browser" category) have a setting for how long to keep them, or maximum space to use before deleting the oldest ones. They also have an option for clearing temporary files manually. NONE of that has anything to do with your e-mail.
