Edited to add: sometimes websites get sneaky and change your default settings for you, in order to increase the number of page hits they get. They suck!

You should run a scan with an anti-malware utility to remove it - then change your browser's homepage, default search engine, etc.

It looks like you may have bigger problems than just a changed homepage. They use four different programs to get everything removed.

Just an anti-virus won't do. Malwarebytes got part of it for me. A program named Trojan Killer was my life saver though. They worked through the night with me it was that bad.

The little devils hid files everywhere.

Trovi.com is not technically a computer virus, but its hijacking activities are malicious and dangerous. It's kindly advised to remove this bad stuff completely so as to protect the system. I suppose this free and detailed post will help you: http://www.removeviruspro.com/get-rid-of-lab-trovi-com-step-by-step/

Thank you so much for your guidance.

I had the computer cleansed of viruses by your recommended company and even purchased monthly protection from them. I need it because I have Windows XP and without Microsoft's protection, I'm apt to get more viruses that piggyback on other links.

My plan is to wait until Windows 10 comes out and then buy another computer.

Again, I can't thank you enough!
