Goold old Windows 10 upgrade AGAIN-WTF!

Fired up my computer, about the time I opened my browser up pops the Windows 10 upgrade screen. I've already hid it 3 times. Then when I go to Windows Update in Control Panel, it had somehow changed the settings from Notify but don't download to Automatic and it had downloaded good old KB3035583.
The bastards are bound and determined to force upgrades on people. The only thing I downloaded from MS recently was a MSE update.

if you don't remove those it will keep coming back. The easiest way to remove them is to download GWX Control Panel.

What really pissed me off was the settings change on Windows Update.

MS keeps unhiding it.
I have updates set to notify me, but do not download and install.
I also have the GWX Control panel.

I wonder what kind of punishment MS will inflict on us holdouts for not surrendering to their slurp-ware?

6. Yes, new and old "updates" keep getting activated in the Windows Update system.

It is a bit annoying, but I just keep hiding them each time they show up.

My WU settings are "download whenever but I choose if/when to install".

What really pissed me off this time is that M$ thinks it can change settings for you without asking or telling you it is doing so.
I've got 6 computers running here counting my HTPC and laptop. I run Mint on 2 of them, 1 is a dual boot with Mint and 7, 2 run 7 since there are some things I do that are a major hassle to do in Linux.
My laptop runs a heavily tweaked 8 since it was impossible to find 7 drivers for the hardware-Thanks for nothing ASUS.

The pop up screen is probably caused by a stubborn third-party thing. I used to get a browser update pop-up again and again. Seems the thing in your computer is quick similar to it.
BTW, i found out the solution of how to remove the update popup from my chrome here for you. Hope it can give you some ideas!

12. Damn, I just got a notice of an upgrade to Win 10 that was to be done without my permisson. Unless:

If anyone gets this notice, make sure you follow the 'don't want it' options. I am annoyed about the notices, don't want to upgrade. Notice to MS: Leave me the heck alone. You may want to get rid of us w/Win 7 but we don't want you to force us. I don't need your 'new and better'. Deleting the upgrade # in 'control panel does no good.
They are after us!!!

I think this is a way for MS to end the security updates sooner than 2020 for those us us who want the system be have now. I did not want to upgrade to Win 10, for my simple needs, 7 is fine. Actually, I liked Win 7 better. Now I am pestered to heck about '10'. To tell me that they were going to do it anyway, NO, NO, NO.
