Help in changing spell check dictionary.

Somehow my spell checker is set to UK settings instead of American spellings.

For instance:
I get words like "honor" and "color" flagged as misspelled.

Windows 7 Sony laptop.

How can I re-set the checker to American spelling?

It affects my posts here, or on Facebook, or on Twitter, or in my Word Processor.

Doesn't matter what application I am using or what web site I am posting to.

I checked my settings in my Google Chrome browser, and it says English, US. Puzzling.

I bought it from a big box store and it was already set-up, so I just had to log on and set a password, didn't have to set the language options, time zone, etc.

...called Region and Language. Make sure it is set to English (United States).

ETA: I have some errands. lastlib is here and can perhaps help you the rest of the way if needed. I'll check back later. Good luck. Welcome to DU.

It is and has been set to English, (United States).

It still is accepting "colour" and flagging "color"

Not in word or IE or Netscape.

So it must be a Google Chrome setting that's off.

I will reboot and live with it if it doesn't fix itself.
