I have a new HP laptop.

It is running Windows 10 s.

Should I switch from "s" to just Windows 10 so I can use chrome? I just don't like bing.

Also, I get constant drop downs from the top and notices from the bottom of the screen and from the side announcing shit I don't care about. It is just way tooooo busy.

Suggestions???

They try to alarm you about the fact that once you get rid of S you can't come back and your security is at risk.

Loaded with bloatware.

Look into linux? Lots of different kinds.

W 10 will upgrade while you are working - no permission requested - no warning! - & whatever you were working on is gone, if not saved.

Pos!

That is the only way to get rid of the spam that is plaguing you. After it has finished its installation and numerous updates & reboots it should be working better. Yes, Linux is a great alternative but it's not for everyone.

I have several laptops without CD or DVD drives. I can install software using the USB drive. $23 on Amazon.

Now Download the media creation tool

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Then Install your USB drive and start the media creation tool

The Tool will download Windows 10 to your USB

Now Reboot and Install Windows 10

Windows should Install all the drivers, but if not, go to the manufacturers website and install them from there.
