Google Meet

Hi, all. I need some help.

I have been assigned the task of finding and setting up a remote meeting option to expand our reach for a meeting tomorrow evening.

Our group leader has chosen Google Meet as our virtual option. I have no experience with this application. I am looking for helpful suggestions or critique on Google Meet.

I'm also seeking suggestions of any other apps we could use to connect our in person group with our virtual group.

How easy is Google Meet to use?

How does it compare to Zoom?

Any glitches?

Any other apps that are better?

I'm interested in any suggestions on other meeting apps, preferably free, that provide at least an hour of time.

Any suggestions or help with this is greatly appreciated. TIA.

All the best!

The first ten minutes of any group zoom call involves just getting people going.

Questions such as the following will dominate the first part of any teleconference:

Can you see me?

Can you hear me?

How come I can't see any of you?

My company, my agency and several I have a relationship with use MS Teams. (I used zoom once for a local thing with my town.) For work we don't use the cameras and don't really care what color shirt any of us are wearing. We usually share a screen with the group so we can all be looking at the same version of the same document.

IMO, taking the time to assure everyone can see everyone else is a waste. Maybe some of you are fashion models, so YMMV on that. I downloaded Teams for free. As I recall it was free for both me PC and phone.
