Not sure about the Kindle Fire's browsing capabilities, but I believe that you should be able to browse the above and other links with it.

but it is my understanding that it is much better for browsing the Internet than the other Kindles...it was designed with that in mind. I have Kindle Keyboard and I can browse the Internet but it is in black and white and it's not great. Yes, you can download books from the Project Gutenberg on a Kindle Fire or any Kindle.

Go here http://m.gutenberg.org/ find the book you want and choose the Kindle edition to download.

My Kindle 3 lets you browse the Internet in a "demo" mode. Very slow and cumbersome for general internet browsing. However, Kindle let's you browse the Amazon Strore very easily and efficiently. I don't know if the latest Kindles have improved or not.

For reading books and shopping at Amazon it is very good. I also can download Kindle ebooks from my public library very easily.
