Anyone know how to copy a long video from an iPad to a PC?

I've got them connected together but the PC can only "see" photos and not the video.
I'd tried uploading the video to youtube (after getting upgraded for longer videos) and it just didn't seem to be working.
This is the thing I hate about iPads-- the files on PCs just seem much more tangible.

Is it a video that you shot, or one that you downloaded? MannyGoldstein Jan 2014 #2
I shot it and I did try iTunes but it didn't list the video among the other media files. Gidney N Cloyd Jan 2014 #3
Maybe Cucusoft would do that thecrow Jan 2014 #4

Students are using Apple stuff as they come to us out of K-12. My getting an iPad was self-defense. Gidney N Cloyd Jan 2014 #7

I assume that you've tried to sync to the PC using iTunes?

When I sync up and look at the files via MyComputer it also doesn't show the video among the other media files. For instance, on the iPad I see side by side the video I want and a still photo I shot the same day yet on the PC side I only see the still photo listed. On the other hand I DO see a couple other videos on both the iPad and the PC sides.

there are many versions of Cucusoft, but you have to pay for it.
I was able to transfer videos with it to my smartphone.... don't know if it will work for you and your purposes... you'd have to try it and see.

I got as far as the demo version and did see a much handier view of what was on the iPad that way. The demo doesn't actually let you move files around, though.
As it turned out a little later, I learned I only needed to patch the iPad into a Win7 machine (was using XP) and the missing file showed up. From there I could download and later optimize the file.

Thanks for your suggestion. I always get good advice on this forum.

for something like that. Windows 8 tablets are far better handling file exchanges with PCs.
