Thinking of switching to Mac from PC

Sick of Windows and want to leave the dark side finally.

For performance needs; I play World of Warcraft. No video editing.

I want to get an iMac made in the USA.

Thinking of getting the 27" Fusion i7 with 8GB of RAM and an upgraded GPU. I'll miss making a beast puter on the cheap.

Any thought or advice welcome!

And it still does pretty well. That iMac would kick ass for Wow.

If you did want to edit video, you could easily.

Dunno what your timeframe is, but new iMacs may ship later in this month, so I would try to put off the purchase for a few weeks.

I played with the 27" and think it's just too big. My head would be spinnin like a dog crossin the freeway - eyeballs tracking all over that bigass screen.

But I really wanted the Fusion i7 only available on the 27"

Gawd, maybe I should wait.

I was originally going to suggest that you get as much memory as you can afford, but you can add more yourself later (and probably cheaper).

Also, if you wait until the Fall release of the next OS, you'll get that preinstalled.

Follow the light!

I read on MacRumors that battery life will help other units, but not this desktop iMac. I don't need 802.11ac WiFi.
Other than that, the upgrades are supposed to be minimal -no?

It's 10-15° C hotter than Ivy Bridge- overclocked. Seems like a bad thing in that slim case -no?

Will OS X Mountain Lion be getting replaced?

Apple is so secretive, I'm surprised we know about the MacPro and its unified thermal core. These folks are brilliant. Don't know if I can wait. There'd just be another brilliant idea in the chute.

From MacRumors:
Faster CPU (Haswell)
Faster GPU (NVIDIA 700x Series)
Faster Wifi (802.11 AC)
Fusion Drive Standard
Facetime 1080p HD

Same Prices, Design, and Screen Sizes

No matter what the heat is, Apple will design to deal with it.

OS X Mavericks will not ship until 'Fall,' so the new iMacs will be Mountain Lion.
