DU youtube videos won't play

More and more DU YT videos won’t play on my iPad. Most often, i see a “sign in so we know you are not a bot" block; that’s a dead end - there’s no link to sign in.
I am signed in to DU, signed in to my YT Premium page.
With the latest iPadOS update, more than half the DU YT video links are refused. That is worse than before.

Is this a DU issue? An iPadOS issue? Anyone else have this?

1. I've experienced this recently too. I'm mostly on my older iPad to view DU.

2. I get embedded videos except with Firefox on Mac.

Tells me that I made some browser setting or extension with Firefox, but I can't say what might have changed on your ipad. Updates may reset defaults.

Try clearing history and cookies. This will log you out, but it will clear browser cache, if that helps.

I wait out all updates, until unexpected goofs are fixed.

4. Just tap on the play in you tube button at the bottom left

It will take you to you tube and the video will play

Happening in other areas, too. Not just DU

5. Try pausing your VPN

My VPN was causing the problem you described.

When I paused the VPN and reloaded the YouTube page it worked fine. Good luck

7. This worked for me as well.

It appears I have to turn my VPN off to play the video in DU. Alternatively I can leave my VPN on and use the lower left button instead to play the video in YT. I’m still using update 17.6.1.

6. Same here after the upgrade..I have to go to YT to play the vid..nt
