Had to switch to Chrome

I have been using Firefox since forever. But recently Vanguard - where our IRAs re - did not recognize me.

OK, I have Safari. But today was the worst. Yes, I found the year end statement but then I was frozen.

So I called for help. This person, I think that he helped me last year, his name is Shane, suggested to download GoogleChrome. I was never excited about Google but did not have a choice. I think that the other option was a Microsoft.

Took a while to install, I was not sure about the images but then it was, logged into Vanguard and everything was great. I think that he spent about an hour with me.

My iMac is almost six years old and I wonder whether it is time to get a new one. Recently has been very slow when I first open it.

I am too old for all this..

I will keep Chrome for Vanguard exclusively. For now.

I don't like Chrome following me all over. Yesterday I got a notification on my phone of a conversation in a group I belong to. But I don't know how it got to my phone and appears nowhere else. Maybe it came through Google Meet.

Firefox glitches with Zoom. I want something simple and reliable. Brave? Opera?

I too am overwhelmed with technology.

I really don't want to spend the dwindling minutes of my Life trying to sign on to something I'm paying for. I have two pages of passwords, and when I enter them, half the time I get a notification that it's the wrong password. Then I have to check my phone for a code, while the clock ticks down on you.
They need to work it out so a person can navigate their accounts without having to stand on their head and hold their face just right. Or, it's just a racket.

6. Do you have a comprehensive 'cleaning' program like CCleaner or CleanMyMac?

This Mac I am using is five years old and works great.

The one connected to the main monitor in the room is now twelve years old and is still a good one, although a bit iffy on some sites that use a lot of wild graphics. It plays YouTube just fine.

I do know that there are times when I run into what is plainly a bias against Apple in the fact that there are some site out there that just will not work with Safari. My dispensary is one. The website where my friends and I meet for gaming is also one.

For those, I had to download... excuse me... I had to...

Sorry...

I had to download... **swallow hard** Microsoft Edge. It is the one that works best with those sites.

Gag me with a flash drive.

(I use CCleaner. It did not require me to join anything.)

8. I like Safari

But sometimes sites don't like it. If I'm not sure whether it's a Safari problem or another problem I try the site on Chrome.
Before I go to Chrome I clear history and empty caches. Sometimes that's all Safari needs to get moving again. Then I restart Safari and it's all fresh and new. I probably do that about four times a year.

I don't think the computer itself can affect how your browser works unless it's affecting a lot of other things, too. If everything is running slow, you might have a storage problem or other things that smarter people (or maybe a 4th grader?) can help you with but most of them are not expensive at all.

I have a 12 year old Mac Book Pro. I prefer Safari but have to use Chrome for some websites. Vanguard being one of them. I know that eventually I'll have to break down and buy a new one. Just like I did with my iPhone. I went from a 6 to a 16.
