If Leahy decides not to seek re-election in 2022, His successor will be Attorney General Donovan.
Donovan is a 3 term statewide elected official in VT that won by landslide margins. Donovan has an easier time getting elected to the US Senate than unseating Scott in the VT Governors Race.
Peter Welch- VT state’s only US House member is going to be 75 years old in 2022.
Lt Governor Gray will run for higher office(US Senate) in 2024 when Sanders decides not to seek re-election.
