The Democrat Pushing Mass Surveillance on Kids

Democrats like Michigan Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow are pushing mass surveillance and calling it "child online safety." I break down what these proposals actually do aka identity verification, AI monitoring, restrictions on speech, and devastating effects on marginalized kids.
None of this is about protecting kids, it’s about expanding government control and manufacturing consent for mass censorship and surveillance.

I explain how these policies grow the surveillance state, why moral panic keeps getting recycled, and why real civil liberties protections matter more than fear-driven tech crackdowns. It's also totally unacceptable for Democrats to continue to push The Heritage Foundation's tech policy slate and boost the work of far right interest groups using this moral panic to strip us of our freedoms.

Mallory's opponent, Abdul El-Sayed is running on a platform of protecting civil liberties, clean air, clean water, and an economy that works for working people. If you are in Michigan, go out and canvass for him!!!!!!!!

I don’t think that is part of the Heritage Foundation’s agenda, but it is part of McMorrow’s.

Nice try at a hit piece, but ultimately a failure.

Citizens United and the “money is protected speech” and “corporate personhood” sophistry. School districts around the country are banning cellphones during school hours, and I don’t hear civil libertarians yelling about it. In fact, the bans have bipartisan support. This is a kind of libertarian absolutism that favors tech companies, not minors.

I’ve listened to this YouTuber and she’s generally pretty progressive in her worldview, but I think she’s out on a limb on this one. I trust Mallory McMorrow more than a lone voice crying out on YouTube.
