Trayvon Martin Slammed On Facebook By Federal Prosecutor John Craft

Slain teenager Trayvon Martin was mocked on Facebook by a federal prosecutor in Texas, and Eastern District of Texas attorney John Craft also derided “low information voters” and President Obama on his private page.

The comments came under fire for what many say are racist implications, as well as the possible improper nature of the remarks. Craft has since said only that his rant was “not related to the US Attorney’s office,” and the US Attorney’s office also commented: “This office neither supports nor condones the views expressed on Facebook by Mr. Craft. He was not speaking on behalf of the US Attorney’s Office.”

Federal Prosecutor Allegedly Made Horrifying Facebook Comments Related To Trayvon Martin

A veteran U.S. prosecutor in Texas is under fire for allegedly implying on Facebook that Trayvon Martin looked like a criminal, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Craft made the comments on his private Facebook page in response to a status update that supported "stand your ground" laws, according to the Chronicle. Such laws allow people to shoot intruders even if they have the opportunity to run away.

Snip

Here's what Craft wrote, according to the Chronicle:

How are you fixed for Skittles and Arizona watermelon fruitcocktail (and maybe a bottle of Robitussin, too) in your neighborhood? I am fresh out of "purple drank." So, I may come by for a visit. In a rainstorm. In the middle of the night. In a hoodie. Don't get upset or anything if you see me looking in your window ... kay?

The night George Zimmerman shot him, 17-year-old Martin was walking in the rain and wearing a hoodie — a piece of clothing that's become a symbol for racial profiling. He was also carrying Skittles and an Arizona iced tea.

The Beaumont Enterprise reports that Craft had also posted a graphic that said "Obama: Why Stupid People Shouldn't Vote."

One thing that is worse than a low information voter is a low information prosecutor, the fact that this racist asshole has the power to push people into prison sentences should give everyone pause.

For that very reason Bjorn.

They can't or if they do they will be banned from the group. I agree he is a "low information prosecutor"

It is kind of sad that support for a murderer is allowed anywhere on this site, there is no reason that a post that is not even directly related to Obama should have to be posted in this group just to keep the racists away.

Yes it is sad, however there are some nights that I am to tired to face the forces. This is one of them.

Prosecutor's Facebook posts being reviewed

Slain teenager Trayvon Martin was mocked on Facebook by a federal prosecutor in Texas, and Eastern District of Texas attorney John Craft also derided “low information voters” and President Obama on his private page.

The Beaumont Enterprise reported John Craft, an attorney in the criminal division of the Eastern District of Texas, wrote on a private Facebook page that "low information voters" helped get Obama re-elected. He referred to Obama as "Dalibama."

Craft also posted an image of a graphic that said: "Obama: Why Stupid People Shouldn't Vote."

every defense attorney in the judge and/or prosecutor's district that has a (young) Black Male client, with a close case will be reviewing these "public servants'" past cases, then changing their defense strategy to include publically calling into question the judge and/or prosecutor's possible racial bias.

Is it "playing the race card" when you call someone on their racist sh!t?

The reviews need to be done. This is simply horrifying.

It makes me weep.

I know the hate is out there, however for the life of me I can not understand it. There is no rhyme or reason for it.

I am so very sorry, 1StrongBlackMan. So very sorry.

And no.
"Is it "playing the race card" when you call someone on their racist sh!t?"

'Low-information voter' is a racist code word I've often heard applied to blacks who voted for Obama by old style conservatives, Teabaggers and Libertarians. They think that's gonna get them a pass instead of calling them inferior.

Obama and Holder have more brains in their little fingers than most of these clowns in total. That talk is straight off the web pages of the white supremacists who I consider to be not just low information voters, but propagandized brainwashed ones.

I say fire this guy, he can't be trusted to follow his oath to the Constitution.

We are very enthusiastic about these subjects and what is being done to make these things come to pass. It is what it is. And this is a safe haven where we never have to put up with the kind of remarks you mention here.

Feel free to post here if you understand that we are not here to take complaints, overt and otherwise, against PBO. This group celebrates what we as Democrats can get done to make life better for all Americans.

I guess the mere mention of his name causes them to act out. Maybe from the guilt of what they condoned.
